ABOUT THE PRESENTATION OF KRASNODAR REGION IN TURKISH REPUBLIC



Presentation of Krasnodar Region economic potential is to take place from December 10 to 12, 2006 in the city of Istanbul. Purpose of the presentation is to develop trade and economic cooperation of Krasnodar Region with Turkish Republic, and to present economic potential of Krasnodar Region for business community of Turkish Republic.

The presentation is held by the Administration of the Krasnodar Region with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Technical moderator of the presentation is the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Krasnodar Region Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey is the partner of the event.

Governor of Kuban Alexander Tkachev is to head the presentation. Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Region Vladimir Beketov, vice-governors of the region, heads of towns and districts, directors of major enterprises and organizations of the region, heads of sectoral departments are included in the delegation.

Russian-Turkish trade and economic cooperation has been rapidly developing over the last years. In total volume of Russia’s turnover Turkey ranks the 14th. Russia ranks the second in import and the eighth in export of Turkey.

Turkey displays great interest to cooperation with constituent entities of the South of Russia and, specifically, with Krasnodar Region, over the last years being one of the main permanent foreign trade partners of Krasnodar Region.

Foreign trade turnover of Krasnodar Region with Turkey in 2005 totaled USD 644.64 million, almost two times greater, than similar index of the previous year. Foreign trade turnover of Krasnodar Region with Turkey over 6 months of 2006 totaled USD 397.55 million. According to the volume of trade with the region Turkey stably ranks the first.

The Conference Krasnodar Region - Investment Attractiveness of the Region and Prospects for Trade and Economic Relations with the Republic of Turkey", round table discussions and bilateral business meetings are to be held within the Presentation.

Location - "Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinsi", Istanbul. Exhibition of the branches of Krasnodar Region economy of total area of 400 sq. meters will be arranged in Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski".
